First Nations Economic Opportunities Conference - July 2006
Bill Mason, Chutzpah Inc. and the Golden Pearl Modeling team sought and received sponsorship for Golden Pearl to attend Indigenous Business Australia's First Nations Economic Opportunities Conference in Sydney, July 2006.
This was the team's first trip to Sydney and first exposure to indigenous business. Whilst in Sydney, the team had the opportunity to meet the Australian Governor General, who then in his Conference opening speech acknowledged the team and invited applause from the audience for them!
All members cite that this exposure contributed greatly to their focus, resilience, inspiration and self-efficacy in continuing to establish and run Golden Pearl.
